Description
The soil of Mayavaram has a special quality. Mayavaram and the neighbouring town Kumbakonam were symbols of a time period in religion, literature, art and government jobs. The culture of Kumbakonam is more or less the culture of Mayavaram. Both and many other towns are on the banks of the Cauvery. All had the river civilization. They were also the headquarters of all political upheavals.
In a way Mayavaram speaks of its history thirty years ago in my voice. This is not a guide to the town with statistical details and other similar elements. It is the history of the culture of Mayavaram.
